アブストラクト
  Wireless LANs (WLANs) have gained popularity due to their low cost, simplicity of installation, and high data transmission rate. WLANs that are independently managed by different organizations, i.e., WLANs with different IP subnets, are starting to complementarily cover a wide area such as an entire city. In the near future, WLANs will continue to spread until they overlap to provide continuous coverage, and they will be the underlying foundation of ubiquitous networks. In such ubiquitous networks, mobile nodes (MNs) will be much more likely to traverse WLANs with different IP subnets during TCP communication due to its small coverage. However, as the communication quality is degraded due to handovers even under the existing protocol such as Mobile IP, users will not be able to receive services provided by various applications such as file transfer and video streaming. To achieve seamless WLAN handover, we proposed handover management based on the number of frame retransmissions [1] [2]. Note that we employ end-to-end principle, i.e., additional network entities are not needed unlike Mobile IP.
